I am Mariann Fercsik, founder of Habitat Forest School.
I have worked over 15 years documenting environmental and social issues, using the medium of photography and visual education. After my son was born, my life slowed down and I started thinking on how to merge all the previously gained professional and personal experience with a nature based educational setup. This is how the concept of Habitat Forest School was born. I merge forest and nature studies with climate change topics age -appropriately by providing a unique experience to the learners.
I am always excited to share my love for nature, the natural world and simply being outside, and with a focus of natural exploration and awareness, I find the innate fascination from young people in green spaces greatly inspiring.
I work as a Level 3 Forest School Leader, consultant and environmental project researcher.
When not working on various projects, you can find me wandering/wondering outside, possibly in a woodland staring at the trees or contemplating on the magical presence of the smallest findings.
